11/21/2013 – NY Saltwater Anglers for Zeldin Event

System AdministratorUncategorized

November 21, 2013 – The Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) is a registered non-profit organization, a federally recognized 501(c)(4) legally able to lobby on behalf of our mission, and permitted to engage in political campaign activity.  Established in 1996 to give a national voice for saltwater anglers, RFA is actively engaged in the political process in defense of our stated mission “To safeguard the rights of saltwater anglers, protect marine, boat and tackle industry jobs and ensure the long-term sustainability of U.S. saltwater fisheries.”

With a little more than 11 months to go before the midterm election of 2014, RFA is already looking closely at races of interest for our members.  With all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and 33 of 100 seats up in the Senate, we expect the 2014 election to hold promise for saltwater anglers and recreational fishing business owners on every coast.

With a recent Gallup poll showing Congress had reached an all-time low, winning the approval of just 9% of the American public (breaking the previous record low of 10% the year before), it’s clear that we’re in need of change down in Washington DC.  For our New York marine anglers, perhaps the biggest area for change is in the First Congressional District, made up of some of the ‘fishiest’ towns on Long Island including Smithtown, Brookhaven, Southold, Southamptom, East Hampton, Shelter Island, Brookhaven, Mastic and Riverhead.

In 2014, RFA hopes to see a saltwater angler named Lee Zeldin in Washington DC representing the fishermen of New York’s First District!

On Tuesday, December 10 from 6 to 8 p.m., RFA, together with the New York Fishing Tackle Trades Association (NYFTTA), invites you to join the “New York Saltwater Anglers for Zeldin” being held at Parto’s Italian Restaurant in Riverhead.  New York State Senator Lee Zeldin (R-Shirley) has proven himself a champion for saltwater anglers during his time in Albany, and both RFA and NYFTTA are urging New York’s support for this fishermen’s champion in Washington DC.

Click on the images to the left for an official invite to the December 10th event at Parto’s, 12 West Main Street (at Peconic Avenue) in Riverhead.  A requested donation is $250, and limited sponsorships are available for $500 and $1,000.  You can get more information by calling me directly at 888-564-6732, or email Courtney@thekimgroupllc.com.

Sen. Zeldin has made the rights of saltwater anglers one of his platforms, both at the state level and now in the race for Congress.   True, this is a battle for the first congressional district race, but it’s also a fight for all saltwater anglers in New York and those voters who refuse to reward pandering politicians who are taxing our nation into debt and driving congressional approval ratings into the ground.

I would encourage to read more about Lee at www.zeldinforcongress.com – he’s the fresh young blood we need to get the House of Representatives back on track and working for America the way we loved it.

And be sure to click here to download the New York Saltwater Anglers for Zeldin reply form for the December 10th event in Riverhead.

Again, feel free to call me directly at the office at 888-564-6732 with any questions about contributions, but I hope you can join us in Riverhead on Tuesday, December 10.

See you there!
