August 12, 2013 – If you’re RFA membership is up-to-date and you’re looking to score big on the fluke grounds off Belmar this weekend, be sure to stop by the RFA booth at the Shillelagh fluke tournament registration on Friday night to register for your chance to win a $340 rod and reel combo from Abu Garcia and Lamiglas!

Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore will host their 6th Annual Fluke Tournament on August 17th, with $10,000 in prizes including a $4,500 top prize and $2,000 for second.  As a special incentive, a special rod and reel package will be offered to the active RFA member who catches the largest single fluke of the tournament – a handcrafted Lamiglas IC70H with top-selling Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500C3.

The Shillelagh has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years, with a huge tournament picnic held at the Shillelagh Club, 815 16th Avenue in Belmar, NJ on tournament day starting at 3 p.m.

But first off is the Captain’s meeting which is set for Friday, August 16th starting at 6:30 p.m. at the club.  RFA staff will be manning a table – we’ll have a list of current, active RFA members, so be sure to check in first to qualify for the RFA ‘calcutta’ prize for the largest member-caught fluke of the tournament.  If you’re not sure, you can renew your RFA membership at the captain’s meeting while you’re getting your Calcutta sign-ups in place – after all, you don’t want to miss out on this RFA ‘members only’ exclusive Lamiglas/Ambassadeur combo when you bring that doormat back to port.

Tournament proceeds from the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore fluke tournament will benefit the FSOS Foundation and the Recreational Fishing Alliance.
